For most of his life, Guitarist David Vez has taught numerous individuals how to play and master the guitar. Which now has led many to know him as, The Premier Guitarist in the San Gabriel Valley.
At the amazing age of four, David Vez began on what would become his life long passion. However this was not a simple path, he spent countless years and immeasurable hours perfecting the methods he has developed and currently teaches. “…he doesn’t just teach you a bunch of songs that you’ll forget…” according to his students but “….he provides you with a [fundamental] knowledge base with the tools [necessary] to become as good as you want to be.” The only requirement he asks of his students is that “they have a burning desire to learn and apply his techniques and methods.” David has developed many techniques and methods on how to play the guitar and incorporates it to the curriculum for his students. As a graduate of Trebas Institute of Recording Arts, David received a degree in sound engineering, recording, and music production. With the knowledge he has acquired there and classes taken at the Guitar Institute of Technology combined with his own creative talent and skill, David has been able to consistently create innovative ways to teach his students.
Mr. Vez has countless experiences not only in teaching but as well as in performing. He has performed for many high profile guests such as Mayor Tom Bradley, Mayor Riordon, Eddie Albert of Green Acres and many more. In addition David also has live performance experience with a group and as a soloist, and has worked with many high profiled musicians such as David Foster, Steve Perry, Bonnie Raitt, Sheena Easton and more.
Vez’s Primary influences are: Al Di Meola, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen and Eric Johnson. With the vast variety that influenced him as a musician Mr. Vez is well versed in many styles of music and can acclimate to Classic Rock, Neo-Classical, Metal, Easy listening, Blues, and countless others. David is currently working on his long awaited debut album, which will be released summer of 2010.
